OrigenLedger

Help center

Everything you need to know about OrigenLedger, coffee traceability and how to take part.

Mission

Enable every coffee producer to prove the origin and quality of their lot, and get paid for it, with evidence any buyer can verify without intermediaries.

Vision

To be the trusted record for origin coffee in Latin America: the place where the lot, its quality, its certifications and its regulatory compliance live in a single verifiable history.

How does it work?

πŸ‘©β€πŸŒΎ Producers

  1. Register your farm and your lot: country, region, altitude, variety, process and weight.
  2. Add the plot geolocation; the EUDR requires it to sell in Europe.
  3. Deliver the lot to your mill or cooperative, which records its quality.
  4. List the lot on the marketplace or request pre-harvest financing.

🏭 Mills and cooperatives

  1. Receive cherry or parchment coffee and link each delivery to its origin lot.
  2. Record moisture, hulling, screen size, defects and yield factor.
  3. Sign the evidence: your endorsement is anchored and cannot be altered.
  4. Sell green coffee by sack or container with its certificate and QR code.

🚒 Buyers, importers and roasters

  1. Filter lots by origin, process, SCA score, certification and delivery zone.
  2. Review the lot history and due diligence before buying.
  3. Send a purchase request; the seller coordinates the deal with you.
  4. On delivery, scan the QR code and confirm it matches what was agreed.

πŸ’° Investors

  1. Review pre-harvest financing requests backed by registered lots.
  2. Contribute capital to the projects you are interested in.
  3. Follow the lot until it is sold.
  4. Receive your capital and the agreed return when the producer settles.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a crypto wallet?

No. You can sign up and operate with just your email. The platform anchors the evidence on the blockchain for you; a wallet is optional for those who want to sign directly.

What is stored on the blockchain?

Only a cryptographic fingerprint (hash) of each lot event. Data and documents live on the platform; the fingerprint proves they were not modified.

How does OrigenLedger help with the EUDR?

The EU deforestation regulation requires the geolocation of every plot and proof of no deforestation after 31 December 2020. OrigenLedger keeps that evidence with the lot and hands it to the importer for their due diligence statement.

Who sets the SCA score?

A certified cupper (Q Grader) following the Specialty Coffee Association cupping protocol. A lot scoring 80 points or more is considered specialty coffee.

How much does it cost?

During the pilot, registering lots is free. Marketplace and financing fees will be published before they are enabled.
